		<description>Hi Kostas,
Good question. I called lone time Volvo guy and good friend Art Battaglia for some insight into our new S60 seat belt adjuster system.

Dan,

The range of adjustment on the automatic was not as wide as on the manual adjustment so, over time, we found we had some comfort complaints from smaller passengers who said the belt was too high. If people don&#039;t wear the belt due to comfort...

The added benefit of the manual adjustment is the B-Pillar is much shallower, since the mechanism required is smaller than with the auto adjust; and while real-world visibility was not an issue with proper side-view mirror adjustment, customers who were used to turning their head, complained about the perceived &quot;blind spot&quot; the large B-Pillar contributed to.

Hope that helps.

Regards,
Art

		<description>Dan,

Do you have any input as to why Volvo ditched the automatic height adjustment for the front seatbelts in the latest S60/V60?
This is a very good function which certainly differentiates Volvo from all other brands, and something that adds Volvoness to the car.

Best Regards
