Nice Volvo photographs

danjohnston

We spend hours/days/weeks getting photography that looks good, I mean good enough to make your eyes water with desire and sleepless nights wondering if real life is just as good as the image. A friend sent me an interesting FB page  a couple weeks ago, mostly of images of Volvo cars. I’d pass it to you but you might get the wrong idea and I really do not want my mom to know I’m cruising a site with that kind of name. Suffice that the name is more about car beauty than the title suggests. Anyway, there were some outstanding photos, but these two really stood out.

1) Alex S. from Austria. I have seen hundreds of photos of this generation C70, and Alex nailed it perfectly. Nice 1/3 car placement and interesting background without being over powering. While we would never do a black/white image there is something to say for washing out colors and just letting an image stand alone.  I asked him why not black out the windows: “Forbidden.” Guess forbidden there is really forbidden, not like it is different here.

2) This ’01 V70 lives in Kilsmo Sweden and belongs to Katina F. This photograph really highlights the unique pink (she and the paint shop blended paints until both were pleased with their decision).  Sorry, this is truly a custom no name pink color. Her photo uses the surrounding darkness to express not only a mood but to highlight her wagon. I asked her how many Volvo’s has she owned? Four.  Cool.

Thanks Alex and Katina for your photos.
