With that video, one almost has to steal the slogan from Timex. “Timex (Volvo?) takes a licking and keeps on ticking”. There was nothing that I wanted to keep my family in other than a Volvo wagon. With one ’79 245 I found a nice downhill stretch and zero traction in winter. Front passenger corner hit with a tree – beautiful crumple, with an undamaged cowl. My daughter had some seat-belt bruises, but that was it. I was immediately on the market for another. And another ’79 245 I did find.

My wife loves demo derbies, for what reason I will never understand. But now we know the car for her.
Good grief, if I ever hit anybody in my 850 estate, those folks are in a world of major league hurt. I knew the 850 was a strong car, but not as strong as this video shows. Was going to trade my 850 for a newer V70, but I am rethinking that now.
