Should I just wait for the 2014 to drop this summer or purchase a 2013 S80 now?

Tough call. Just depends on what is important to you. A friend, his parents just bought a 2013 S60 with Technology Package. He too had the same thoughts but they already made their purchase. I think that what you get right now is one of the safest cars out there (as an employee and they might up that word “one” to something else but in print that’s tough to do). I think some blog entries earlier last year or maybe even before then, the same kind of question arose but more about used cars, for their son or daughter. The idea we work towards is that each generation of car is safer than the last. That does not mean the last is unsafe, in fact probably (legalese) than most cars out there. Our belief is that we help protect people, that is our most important priority. Safety is not a fashion statement but an expected responsibility. Will the new S80 be safer than a 2014 yes, that does not mean a 2013 is unsafe. I know, tough decision for you. Let us know what you decide.
